VANCE W. GONZALES
Based in McAllen, Texas, Vance Wesley Gonzales is a seasoned trial attorney with over thirteen years of legal experience. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Vance attended high school and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School. Vance earned an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and later went on to complete a Master’s in Journalism at the University of North Texas. Over those years, Vance worked in corporate America and as sports reporter in print and in radio, but ultimately a passion for law called on him. Vance later graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law, where he found purpose in advocacy and courtroom litigation.
With a focus on criminal law, Vance has built a reputation as an aggressive and dedicated trial attorney. For 12 years, Vance served as an Assistant District Attorney in Hidalgo County, handling a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases, including high-stakes situations, like death penalty cases. His commitment to justice and meticulous attention to detail make him a formidable presence in the courtroom.

TJ Mayes

Based in San Antonio, Texas, TJ Mayes is an experienced trial attorney representing clients in personal injury and criminal defense matters. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University.
TJ has developed his practice handling complex and fact-intensive cases, including serious injury claims and criminal matters. He has experience litigating cases through jury trials, motion practice, and evidentiary hearings, building a reputation for thorough preparation and effective courtroom advocacy.
Before entering private practice, TJ served in government and public policy roles, where he was involved in legislative and executive-level initiatives. That experience continues to inform his approach to legal strategy, particularly in cases involving procedural and constitutional considerations.
TJ is committed to providing clients with diligent and strategic representation, focusing on clear communication, careful case development, and strong advocacy. He works to ensure that each client’s case is handled with attention to detail and a focus on achieving the best possible outcome.
In addition to his legal work, TJ is active in the San Antonio legal community. He is a member of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He also serves with Texans for Safe and Drug-Free Youth and is currently Chair-Elect.
